Esta semana pasada me vi totalmente superada. Como dice mi marido: me meto en unos "fregaos"... No sólo no sé decir que no, si no que, además, me apunto a un bombardeo.
This past week I completely overwhelmed myself. I don't know how to say "no" but I do know how to get myself into a lot of trouble.
La cuestión es que me puse a preparar el cumpleaños de mis hijos (para la semana que viene) y me superé a mi misma. Me di cuenta que hacer 25 bolsas y mochilas iba a ser imposible, cuando el martes por la tarde, que es el día que puedo dedicar más horas a la costura, ¡¡¡sólo había terminado 5!!! Y además , el adorno que les había hecho, se despegaba... Un desastre, vamos.
What I mean is that I was ready to prepare my children's birthday party and I thought it would be a great idea to sew 25 totes and backpacks. On Tuesday evening, after some hours of sewing and only 5 bags done I realized it would be absolutely impossible.
Así que me levanté, respiré hondo y me convencí. No soy súper-woman, tengo que ser consciente de que no puedo llegar a todo y que a veces tengo que priorizar y dejar algunas cosas de lado.
So I got up and talked to myself. I'm not super-woman, I have to prioritize and learn to leave certain things undone.
Dicho esto, por supuesto no pude hacer el tutorial. Pero sí tengo algunas recomendaciones para que os preparéis.
All this said, I left the tutorial for the pouch undone. But I do have several recommendations for you.
Necesitamos dos telas diferentes, una para el exterior y otra para el interior. Podéis escoger lonetas, o algodón. Si escogéis algodón tened preparada la entretela para darle un poco de cuerpo. Y una cremallera.
We need two different fabrics, one would be the exterior or main fabric, the other one would be the interior or lining fabric. You can use upholstery or cotton, but if you choose cotton be sure to interface it. You will also need a zipper.
Utilizaremos el prensatelas especial para cremalleras, pero si no lo tenéis, podemos utilizar el estandar, la única diferencia será cómo se va a ver la tela que rodea a la cremallera
We will use the special zipper foot on your machine, but if you don't have it, don't worry, we can use the standard foot. The only diffrence being the amount of zipper you will see.
Podéis preparar la tela jugando con los puntos decorativos de vuestras máquinas.
Y si sois muy valientes podemos animarnos a coser cuero (uno muy finito, no nos vamos a lanzar al estrellato, eh?)
You can get your fabrics ready using the embroidery stitches on your machines. And if you are brave enough, we can even try to use leather (mind you! a very thin one)
