Todos los años, a la vez que quilt market Amy Ellis de Amy's creative side, organiza un festival donde mostrar y ver quilts organizados en diversas categorías.
Every year, coinciding with quilt market, Amy Ellis from Amy's creative side, organizes the bloggers' quilt festival a place to show, but especially to discover many quilts and quilters all organized in different categories

Hasta ahora siempre me presenté a la categoría de fotografía, pero este año esa categoría desapareció, así que tuve que encajarme en "large quilts"
I've always entered in the quilt photographer, but this time there's no such a category so I have to fit my entry in the "large quilts"

El quilt que presento es un diseño de cluck cluck sew, Plus quilt, mide 66 x 84 pulgadas y las telas son de la colección Reunion de Sweetwater para Moda Fabrics.

El bies en rojo lo complementa perfectamente

Para la trasera utilicé la tela de los números de Ikea, ¡todo un descubrimiento!

For the backing I used Ikea's numbers fabric. What a discovery!

El acolchado con líneas rectas, espaciadas cada cuatro.

I quilted it with straight lines and spaces.

Por los "más" y los números, fue por lo que decidí fotografiar este quilt en un aula

Seeing the pluses and the numbers on this quilt inspired me to take the photos in a classroom

 Y mi primera idea fue, el retrato en sepia, en plan aula antigua
And my first plan was a retro look, an old classroom

Escote barco / Another summer dress

 Y sí, seguí jugando, y esta vez rizando el rizo...

I kept playing, and this time I went over the top

 Mismo patrón "la blusa Julia" de "The indiecub", pero esta vez, con mucho cambios

Vestido de verano / summer dress

Recordáis la blusa Julia que os enseñaba aquí. Pues ya que tenía el patrón en freezer paper, me puse a jugar un poco con él. 

Do you remember this summer tunic I showed you here? As I had the pattern on freezer paper I decided to play a bit with it.

Alargué el bajo, acorte la manga y le metí elástico en el escote. Usé sólo dos piezas del patrón repetidas. 

I made it longer, shortened the sleeve and got an elastic band on the neck too. I used only two of the pattern pieces.

Creo que hubiera quedado mejor con la tela cortada al biés. 

I think it would look better if I had cut it on the bias.

Me encanta la manga ranglán.

Creo que seguiré jugando con este patrón. A ver qué más sale...

Blusita de verano / Summer tunic

Ayer creí que no podría publicar hoy porque no cosía nada en toda la semana, pero al final, salí antes del trabajo y logré encajar dos horas de costura antes de irlos a buscar al cole. Y durante la tarde, una media hora aquí, diez minutos allí y terminé de coser el biés del cuello por la noche en la cama.
Yesterday I thought I wouldn't be able to post today, but in the end, I came out from work sooner that I had thought and got to sew for two hours (what a luxury!) Then, I managed to get half an hour here, ten minutes there, and I finished the tunic at night in bed.

Esta blusita es un kit que compré en The Indie Cub, una tienda etsy donde puedes comprar patrones o el kit completo. El kit viene con todo lo que necesitas: un metro de tela de una buenísima calidad, botones de nácar, el elástico para los puños y el hilo a tono con la tela. El patrón impreso en una papel de gramaje y las explicaciones las podéis pedir en inglés o en español y vienen con fotos por lo que son muy claras.
This tunic is a kit That I bought from the Indie Cub. It's a etsy shop where you can either buy the pattern or the kit which is complete for you to sew the tunic. It has everything you may need: 1 yard of fabric (mine is Liberty, high quality), thread to match the fabric, buttons, elastic for the wrists, the pattern and the explanations which you can buy either in English or Spanish.

Con el kit en casa, fue coser y cantar. Un truquito: saqué los patrones en freezer paper, un papel termo adhesivo que pegué en la tela y me permitió cortarla sin errores. Luego lo despegué, no deja ningún residuo, y como es más gordito que el papel de seda, lo guardé para volver a utilizarlo una y otra vez (seguro que repito)
Having the kit at home made it very easy, I didn't need to run to the shop for the last minute essentials, I had all I needed. I'll share one tip with you: I used freezer paper to cut the pattern, that allowed me to stick it to the fabric and to cut it with no mistakes. Then I just pulled it and it leaves no traces on the fabric. I just folded it for future occasions, you can iron it onto fabric as many times as you like. I'll be surely using it again!

Otra cargo duffle / Another cargo duffle

Cuando coses un patrón por primera vez, te das cuenta de las cosas que cambiarías, dónde te equivocaste, qué fue los más difícil... A mi siempre me quedan ganas de repetir.
When you sew a pattern for the first time, you realize what things you would like to change, what works and what doesn't. I always feel the urge to sew it again

Esta vez escogí una loneta de Ikea muy "biológica", y decidí forrarla con una funda de sábana del Zara Home siguiendo este tutorial y añadirle un bolsillo interior como lo explican aquí.
This time I chose a cotton from Ikea and I decided to line it following this tutorial with a pillow sheet from Zara Home, I also decided to include an interior zippered pocket following these instructions

 First of all, I would like to thank you for your comments. I love reading them and I also love replying to them. But, the problem is that most of you are "noreply-commenters" which means that your comment is not linked to an email address. If you would like to check if you are no-reply and to change it, here is a post that explains you how to (it's in Spanish, but it's only a matter of choosing an option on your blogger profile, seeing the picture is enough)

Ana lo explica muy clarito y una técnica que pensaba que era muy complicada, de repente se revela como una técnica entretenida y diría que hasta adictiva.
Now, tell me, Would you like a coffee? Let me show you my latest work. I made this placemat, following this wonderful tutorial by Ana from Quilterbell. It is very well explained, and a technique that I thought would be impossible for me to try has been unveiled, and now I consider it a very entertaining and addictive work.
